Eldon Card Blood Group
A blood group test measures what blood group a patient has, and depends on the type of proteins/antigens that are present on the surface of the red blood cells. Blood group tests detect which blood group a patient has by measuring these antigens. The most common systems used for division into blood groups are the AB0 and Rh systems – these are of great importance, especially for blood transfusions. Surveys have shown that barely ¼ of the Swedish population knows their blood type. However, it is mainly recommended that people who spend a lot of time abroad know what blood type they have.
